Hello & Welcome to my world
My connection to nature goes back as far as I can remember. My mom grew up on a farm and I had spent a lot of time there as a child. My grandparents owned a part of a forest, a very big vegetable garden, many fruit trees and the farm was embedded in beautiful nature.
As a child, whenever someone gifted my mom flowers, I would ask, "where are mine?" :-) I had my own little garden bed where I grew flowers and herbs. At ten, I bought a book about fairies. At twelve, I bought a moon calendar and started learning about lunar cycles including what to do and when. My dad taught me a little about energy work too. My other grandmother had owned a big collection of different crystals that always intrigued me. Looking back, I think I always knew this was part of who I am.
This space here was born during the pandemic, but my journey to it started years earlier. In 2012, I was working at a major consulting firm, pushing hard, doing all the "right things" and my body finally said no...I got sick. My stomach was in knots. I was exhausted. So I quit.
What came next felt like magic, even though it was really just clarity. I knew I wanted to find work where I could speak French, English, and German. A week before I was set to move to the beautiful South of France to refresh my language skills, an amazing job appeared in Geneva. The wrong city but actually exactly what I had asked for. That experience taught me something I keep returning to: if I know what I want, say it out loud, and trust, the universe meets me.
During my recovery, I discovered meditation, somatic practices, mantras, rituals, all things I head heard of before but never truly engaged with. That was my awakening. I realized that I had spent my whole life asking everyone else for answers: my family, my friends, my mentors, my books... when the wisdom I needed was already inside me. I just had to get quiet enough to listen and trust.
As the oldest of four, and I have always been the one who takes care of others and carries a lot of responsibility. Empathy has always been my superpower. I feel things deeply, including what other people are carrying. For a long time, that meant absorbing everyone else's needs before my own. But over the last years, I have learned that the relationship I have with myself is the foundation for everything else. Self-care isn't selfish. It's the most important work I will ever do and now I see my empathy differently too: it's what lets me hold space for my clients, without losing myself in the process.
Now, as a certified integral coach (ACC) and spiritual life coach in training, I work 1-on-1 with busy professionals who are ready to do that work too. Who want to stop running on empty, to trust themselves again, and to build a self-care practice that actually sticks. Because I know what it feels like to be on both sides: exhausted and searching, and then finally, quiet and at home.
Enjoy, and much love and light,
Karin 🤍
