The story behind the name "pavitra jyoti - pure light"
My name Karin means "pure" and is of Scandinavian origin. I love the purity of the ocean, the magical, warm and healing light of a candle, of the moon, the stars and the sun and the purity of kindness and love in human beings.
I have always looked for inspiration in the people I surround myself with and truly believe that everything happens for a reason. I love to inspire others and bring warm and pure light into the world of the people close to my heart. I chose the name pure light because I truly hope that I can bring some magical pure light into your life with this blog.
Pavitra jyoti means pure light in Sanskrit which is an Indic language of the ancient Indian subcontinent with a 3'500 year history. It also continues to be widely used as a ceremonial and ritual language in Hinduism and some Buddhist practices such as recitation of hymns and chants. As I am very drawn to these different practices and was lucky enough to spend some time in Sri Lanka, India and Indonesia, I decided to add the Sanskrit words. You will also see that a lot of the music and mantras, which I am sharing here, are in Sanskrit.
